Pont Alexandre III Bridge | Mint Green Scalloped Skirt

I spent a lot of time and hair spray braiding my hair in the morning to look all pretty walking around Paris.
Paris had other plans for my hair aka the above photo.

I checked weather daily before leaving for Paris. Every webiste said it would be mid to high 70s, and I was so excited for spring flowers, flowy sundresses, and sleeveless tops. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to hibernate a little longer so I had to lug this Moncler jacket to Paris with me....but it didn't stop me from enjoying my dream spring vacation in Paris (aka bring short skirts and sleeveless tops anyway hahah)!!

This bridge is gorgeous. The details. The gold enamel. The panoramic scenic view. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. Y'know how you dream of something so much that you blow it out of proportion and when you finally see it, it doesn't wow you? Well, this was the exact opposite!

I think no matter how much I looked around or how long I stayed, my heart would skip a beat each time I found a beautiful street, ate a perfectly baked croissant, or admired a meticulously curated garden.

Also, I looked totally crazy in a sleeveless shirt and mini skirt, but who cares, right? I kept thinking "I'm in Paris, baby!!! Live it up or regret it later."

Spring Picnic Outfit at the Eiffel Tower

Lace Black Dress | Eshakti
Jaden Cage Heels | Schutz (available here & here)
Cat Eye Sunglasses | Kate Spade

I'm going to be honest. My recent hiatus from blogging wasn't exactly...voluntary.

BUT it was exactly what I needed. I disconnected from social media for a year and reconnected with my life. I realized I was living life through a lens. I needed to rediscover what made me happy, and learn to enjoy it without the pressures of "getting the right shot." (like getting a dog named Chloe haha)

After awhile, I realized blogging was a big part of my life for a reason. In the past few months, I've travelled to Paris. Bought my first designer bag. Ate a picnic underneath the Eiffel Tower. Listened to live music on the streets of Saint Germain. Rowed a boat at Versailles Palace. So here I am with a new blog post to share these experiences. Consider it my comeback to the blogging world.

I don't have my equipment anymore so I'm working on getting a new camera, lens, etc. so bear with me during the adjustment period! I'll work to be consistent again and hope you come along for the ride.

Here's just the first of many posts about Paris. In my next post, I'll tell you a little bit about my recent trip to Paris and my fanatic yet unreasonable love for the city.

Tulle Take 2 // Space 46

Pink Top | Old
Clip Dot Tulle Skirt | Space 46 Boutique
Ruby MC Mini | Strathberry

Blogger has been a bit temperamental at my office so this is my first chance to write this post!

I bought this skirt months ago during one of Space 46's sample sales. It is gorgeous and so well made. I thought purchased the polka dots would make this otherwise formal skirt a little more everyday appropriate. I loved twirling in this. I think I have this problem with every skirt I own but it's especially fun in tulle!

This is from a few months back when we still had snow, and I'm posting it now because I'm trying to trick my mind into thinking it's a lot cooler than it really is aka 100 degrees! I keep staring at the snow in these photos thinking "It's chilly. I'm chilly. Brrrr." FYI, hasn't worked yet, but I'm not losing hope yet!

Blue Blooms Pencil Dress // Brunch

Blue Floral Pencil Dress | Anthropologie
Cat Eye Sunglasses | Kate Spade
Ruby MC Mini | Strathberry

I also picked this up for my Portland trip. I wore this to brunch the morning after the reception. I wish I had taken photos of the room where we had brunch. It was like the library from Beauty and the Beast! I've already promised myself a mini library in my future house just like that one :)

I know most people think Anthropologie is expensive, but when they have promotions on sale items, it's totally affordable. This dress is a perfect example. It was originally $168, and currently on sale for $49.95. But but but! With Athropologie's current promotion for an additional 30% off sale items, this dress becomes an affordable $35!

Anywhos, this dress is well constructed with quality materials (A+). Although it boasts a simple, traditional cut, the open back detail makes it fun for after work situations (plus for those hot days, it gives your back some breathability).

Rose Red Midi Dress Featuring Anthropologie and Strathberry

Red Midi Dress | Anthropologie
Gold Lariat | Jewels by Maya
Ruby MC Mini | Strathberry

This is the gorgeous International Rose Test Garden on the outskirts of Portland. This 4.5 acre garden is home to over 7,000 rose plants and over 550 varietals. Anywhere you go, you smell the light fragrance of roses. If I could, I'd bottle up the air there, and bring it back with me!

Despite the sea of tourists, the garden is so vast that you can find empty corners that you can have all to yourself. I'm still kicking myself for not packing a picnic blanket, some fruit, and spending the afternoon there.

This dress was so much fun to wear in a sea of roses. I felt like a Disney princess. Just missing my animal buddies! Despite how overdressed I was, I felt completely comfortable walking around is this BRIGHT red dress amongst a sea of Ts, jeans, and flip flops. I stuck out like a sore thumb, but I didn't regret it :)

Vest + Stripes | Society Hotel

Grey Striped Button Down | Asos
Blue Vest | Urban Outfitters
Wool Skirt  | J. Crew, thrifted

If you haven't seen yet, I've been posting on Instagram from Portland, Oregon this past weekend. I had so much fun attending the manfriend's family wedding at the Sentinel.

We stayed an extra two days to try our hand at being hipsters (we were terrible, btw). BUT I loved the convenience of getting around Portland. We took the Trimet, the buses or walked around on foot.

I visited some famous places like Powell's City of Books (and bought two books!), Stumptown Coffee Roasters (twice), and Deschutes Brewery ($10 for a flight of 6 beers). Despite all the sightseeing, I dressed pretty comfortably throughout the weekend with outfits like this one (sans heels). We stayed at the Society Hotel which had a beautiful rooftop, which is where these photos were taken. It had beautiful views of Portland, especially magical at night.

Nautical Nonsense - Navy Outfit

Sky Blue Crop Top | Thrifted
Striped Jersey Skirt | Ann Taylor
Navy Blue Blazer with Piping | Boutique in Japan
Cat Eye Sunglasses | Kate Spade

Sorry for no update last week! The manfriend and I were both terribly sick and weather didn't permit us to get better or take photos. This weekend we didn't have better luck, but I refused to go postless this week and took these in the rain!

I always put together outfits for my daily wear that I deem not photo worthy, but then someone compliments me at work and asks how I put together an outfit, and it makes me realize sometimes the best outfits are the most basic and comfortable. Who said basic was bad??

The only downside to this outfit is the constant replay of the Spongebob Squarepants theme song in my head, because of the sailor inspired outfit. "If nautical nonsense be something ya wish, SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS!"

By the way, I saw this door, and was like if I ever open up my own bake shop, this is how I will greet customers while screaming "Welcome to my shop!"
