Boutique 1861 Overload

Striped Top | F21
Carmi Vine Dress | Boutique 1861
Vlasotince Cardigan | Boutique 1861

Cold weather is seriously the best. I get to wear comfy, fluffy sweaters and repurpose dresses! I've been throwing cardigans, crop tops, and long sleeves on my dresses to extend their "shelf life" so to speak :)

This dress was an instant hit amongst my friends. It's got a fun pattern that's not too loud, a flattering cut (which you'll see when it's warmer!), and from one of my favorite boutiques (Boutique 1861)!

Since it's colder, I threw on a fuzzy cardigan with pockets (also from Boutique 1861 haha) and stepped out booties. It was the perfect outfit for the colder weather without looking too bulky. Plus I'm trying to do more pattern play so this striped top was a perfect combo for the dress!

Cozy Line Sweater + Knee High Boots

Color Block Sweater | LINE
Ripped Jeans | Asos
Knee High Boots | Dolce Vita

My style is very feminine and clean cut, but I've always admired the cozy, boho look; think Free People lookbook chock full of embroidered tunics covered in fluffy, oversized, slouchy knits perfect for the crisp fall air.

I can't count on my fingers how many reasons why I can't pull off that type of look: it requires pants, I pass for a country bumpkin, I look like I'm wearing a sack. But I remembered how I loved this blog is that it forces me to try something new. But I got into a comfortable place with my style, and I realized I need to shake things up again. Start trying new things again so here I am totally pulling off the cozy, oversized sweater look WITH PANTS.

What is my pant outfit count? Up to 3? I'm pretty proud of myself, and I find myself becoming more and more pleased with my pant outfits. I'd like to think I'm slowly becoming less and less harsh on myself and my body :)

Strathberry MC Mini Outfit

Crop Top Turtleneck | Asos
Color Block Shift Dress  | Ann Taylor
Red MC Mini | Strathberry
Cat Eye Sunglasses | Kate Spade

This Strathberry bag is my new obsession. Strathberry leather bags are gorgeously handcrafted. Each bag is handmade in small batches by an artisan in Spain. I love the bar closure. It reminds me of M2Malletier's bags but without the $1K+ price tag (Strathberry ranges from $200-$580).

I first read about them on Honestly WTF back in June when they launched their Kickstarter. I saw the bar closure and the unique bag design and knew I had to have it. I pledged for a MC Mini in Ruby Red, and waited. Patiently, I might add for 4 months!!! When it finally did arrive, I smiled from ear to ear. These bags were even more beautiful in person!

I decided a black and white outfit with pops of red to best display the bag. While walking around town, I looked down at my striped sleeves, with red from my bag and dress. I couldn't shake the image of the legs of the Wicked Witch of the East sticking out from under a house in Wizard of Oz. I guess you can find fashion inspiration anywhere!

Simply Stylist OOTD: Chi Chi London + Crop Top

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending Simply Stylist! I learned quite a bit about bettering the blog, and met some wonderful people. Unfortunately, I was too engrossed with the activities of the day that I didn't get to take many photos. Eep! I was quite a terrible blogger, but I just couldn't help myself. It was my first conference :)

I'll post about it later in the week, but here's the outfit I wore that day. I ordered this Chi Chi London dress for a wedding, but in the end, went with this dress. I "accidentally" missed the return cut-off date so I needed to find places to wear this dress. It was too cold to wear out for date night, but it was too special to wear to work. Like the perfect fairy tale ending for my new dress, I remembered I had the Simply Stylist conference on the 25th!

I don't have abs or a perfectly tanned body, yet I always see crop tops being rocked by beach babes. But that didn't stop me from wearing a crop top. I decided to make them my own by creating a two-piece look with a crop top and this Chi Chi London dress. It gives new life to a formal dress and now I find I can wear it to work ;)
