Spotlight Series: Baubax Travel Jacket

The itsy bitsy teeny weeny carry-on just isn't enough space. I need to prioritize what I bring on a trip which usually means my clothes need to be versatile yet practical (and also extremely streamlined). So when I saw this Kickstarter, I knew I had to tell you guys about it. The Baubax jacket is perfect for the globe trotter, the mom, the busy commuter, or the everyday fashionista ;)

So why do I think it's awesome? See for yourself!

Let's start with what exactly can this jacket do for you.

This jacket has 14 more functions than the average jacket.

It comes in 4 different styles.

Which come in 4 different materials.

Each comes in multiple colors for each style and tall sizes too!

The best part is how versatile and practical this piece of clothing is without sacrificing style. And I'm not the only one who thinks that!

Some of the best points that I can't show is the inflatable neck pillow which inflates and deflates in 2 SECONDS, the detachable pillow and hood (great for the blazer), waterproof smartphone and tablet pockets, and built-in gloves. I don't know what else you could be left wanting, but I'm sure you'll get by somehow ;)

But don't wait too long on backing this project, it's ending soon (Sept 3) and that's when prices will go back up to retail price, $160-$200 (depending on style)!!!

Jailbird

I love button downs. I love stripes. So it was no surprise I grabbed this little number when I saw it on Asos. Unfortunately for me, I have a witty manfriend who pokes fun at my outfits. Normally I ignore him, but this time, his comment stuck and I can't unstick it!

What's a girl to do? Go with the flow! He calls them 'prison stripes' because prison uniforms were black and white horizontally striped. I decided to give them a chicer name so they are now known as my 'jailhouse striped' top.

These photos were taken a day after my haircut so I was still rocking my blowout. I've been eyeing lobs for a bit, and asked my stylist, Bendy, what he thought. He warned me it was a lot of work, especially for someone who asks to be able to wake up and go. I am super lazy, but I love love love all these lobs and bobs I see! What should I do??

Spotlight Series: Our Super Adventure

So I don't tell many people this, but I love tumblr and imgur. It's my go-to for when I want to read something  cute/funny. Sounds so unhealthy, but I only do this at work. But not often at work. Ok, I'm digressing...

Today's spotlight is a really cute comic drawn by Sarah Graley across the pond in the UK. She draws about her life with her boyfriend Stef, and their four cats: Toby, Pesto, Wilson, and Pixel. I read these comics and think, 'Oh my gosh, manfriend and I are exactly the same!' It's so much fun to read them. They are a mix of quirky, cute, and sometimes naughty like this comic.
Sarah's caption: "i dunno going to the toilet (especially at night) seems to attract all my cats?? like the bat signal. but for the loo and for cats. the butt signal"

Recently she started a Kickstarter campaign for readers to enjoy her amazing work in print. And I am so glad she did, because otherwise, I would have never found her awesome comics! For Kickstarter supporters, there are special stretch goals for everyone like STICKERS (YAAAS! You read my mind, Sarah!) or physical copies of her other comic, 'Pizza Witch.'

To give you guys a better idea of what her comic is like I've picked some of my favorites of Our Super Adventure to share with you guys! And if you like her stuff, please please PLEASE support her. Show her how much you love her stuff, because awesome comic strips like these take a lot of time and work that we don't see behind the scenes!
we both do this after we’ve been annoying
most of our apologies are in the form of either of us slithering across the room telling you i am great i am sorry
i think this is both the cutest and meanest i’ve drawn Stef
you can’t hush these chops o3o

Are you a die-hard fan for Our Super Adventure like me yet?!?

Blogiversary Outfit: Year 1

When I saw this photo, I thought I looked like an old time-y starlet addressing the paparazzi:
"Please dahling, stop with the photos~"

When Outnet had its clearance sale a few weeks back, I saw this beautiful, vibrant blue maxi. I bought it as an easy piece to wear to work or out to dinner; nothing special. Boy, was I wrong!

With a belt, this dress gave me a sultry, svelte figure. I look taller, thinner, and way more voluptuous than allowed. I'm still in shock as I look at these photos, thinking 'did I grow?' I look a solid 3 inches taller than I really am. I don't look 5'3", right?? (160 cm for international readers) I saw the photos and knew at once they would be the outfit I'd use to commemorate my one year anniversary. I want the confidence this dress gives me to be representative of the year to come! :)

Recently, I read an article where the author wrote about $/wear. She grew up watching her mother use this method to purchase clothing.

Keeping this in mind, I considered where I would wear this dress and how often. This dress is long and covers my shoulders so I can easily get away with it at work. The relaxed fit and vibrant color makes it great for after work shenanigans. I won't wear it everyday (to avoid stares), but I can easily wear this to as low as $4/wear!

Ok, if you didn't notice, this last photo is with different shoes. After I went through the photos at night, I noticed I didn't capture how the dress caught the wind and rippled in the air like a blue ocean wave. So one day after work, I dragged the manfriend with me to take some more photos with whatever heels I had on hand!

Have you ever considered a method similar to $/wear?
