No big post today since I've been so busy.

I just wanted to wear something more "work appropriate" without being boring. I like to throw stripes or polka dots in whenever I want a print that's not too loud. They're also super easy to pair with basics like a skirt (circle or pencil) and blazer.

Anyway, I'm seriously enjoying the sun these days. So much so that I've already started planning vacations to far off places months in advance. The warm weather makes me think I can go anywhere! I'm already planning to go to the lavender fields in upstate NY for my birthday in June. Who knows what else. Do you guys have any ideas?? I'd love to hear what you guys have planned!

With the first day of spring on March 20, I wanted to kick it off with a bright, sunny outfit from warmer days (in California)!

Even though, I can't wait to walk out of work while it's still sunny outside, I think I'll miss the cold weather. I get the chance to use accessories like gloves, hats, and scarves. I have a massive scarf collection so I think I'll miss those the most. They make any dull outfit interesting instantly; plus it doesn't hurt that they keep you warm!

Recently I've been thinking of going back to school, specifically on the West Coast. I chose the West Coast mostly because I have lived my whole life on the East Coast (plus good food and constant good weather). But despite that, I think I'll miss having seasons. Waking up to snow fall. Seeing leaves change golden under the sun. As for right now, all I know is I'm looking for change in my life: new job, new school, new environment. Anything right now. I'll let you know how it goes :)

I am nervous today. I have annual review at my day job. Here's a peek into my past six months: the director of my department left and I took on his job responsibilities; our company created a sales team to sell our parent company’s products globally with me as the only analyst; and in between, a bunch of corporate politics. It’s been exhaustive.

International Women’s Day is today, and I think about how far women have come, but there's still a ways to go. I know I do good work. I do it timely and meticulously, even with the increased work load. Yet, it's not apparent to my male superiors, and I need to justify why I deserve a good review. When things like this come up, I always wonder, “would a male coworker have to defend himself?”

My one reprieve is this blog. It's a little hideaway from stupid corporate politics, and I really can't wait to hear from you guys.

I hope your day's going better than mine.

Anne of Green (Blue?) Gables Outfit with Chi Chi Clothing

Despite my serious disposition in my photos, I'm usually cracking up during my photo shoots, because Chris is ridiculous and makes a bunch of bad puns.

Boater Hat | Japan

I love how versatile this dress is. Despite being a busy printed midi dress, it’s extremely easy to wear as a dress, a skirt or stand on its own; dressed up or dressed down; for the office or to the park. I’ve already worn it once as a “skirt” with a crop top.

Best part is it’s easy to accessorize like with this boater hat I bought years ago in Tokyo. Still love it to this day. Despite its origins from an underground mall stall, it instantly reminded me of Anne of Green Gables (hence the post name).

However, despite its similarities to my favorite novels, I could never get past Anne's idealism. When things are so obvious to the reader, but not to the protagonist, readers like me begin to wonder if the protagonist is purposely hurting people’s feelings and is the biggest sociopath known to man.

Now all this talk of literature has me craving another read through of Pride and Prejudice. I’ll be right back ;)

Does everyone like Anne of Green Gables?
