Lemon Tank + Lace Skirt in the Garden

Lemon Tank | Asos
Cream Lace Skirt | Thrifted
Heeled Sandals | Caparros

Jersey is truly the Garden State with the all its little gardens hidden throughout the state, off busy highways or tucked away in downtown districts. This is the perfect season to visit New Jersey because the weather isn't too hot, and all the flowers are in bloom so if you ever need a tour guide, let me know!

I'm going back to my roots a bit with this beautiful thrifted skirt. It's so light and delicate that I was unable to capture all the intricate details. The only downside to thrifting is sometimes I find beautiful pieces that are just a bit too big for me, so I tend to rely on belts to remedy the situation.

This outfit was perfect for brunch in Montclair, NJ (a cute downtown you must check out if you ever visit NJ!). The tank top was perfect for the sunny afternoon, but the skirt gave me enough coverage for whenever I was under the shade. Remind me next time to bring a cardigan though. With the weather warming up, businesses have started to blast the AC, and then I'll be the fool with a cold in the middle of summer!

Kat Round Crown Hat | Hat Attack (this burgundy version <3)

It seems my chipmunk cheeks will be making weekly appearances from now on! It's ok. I'm pretty proud of them, because of all the food I can store in them >:] Any challengers for a round of "Chubby Bunny"??

     Anyway, I digress... ^^;;

We all know my love of sales. I tend to buy a lot of my staples in the off season and wear them once the weather turns around like yesterday!

I originally bought this dress as a simple frock to throw on for my lazy weekends. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for it. It looked very typical, and I was worried about the dropped waist line. I put it on, and thought, 'Ok. It's cute. Not sure how it'll photograph, but I do like it more than I thought.' And then, the manfriend took these photos, and I realized I seriously underestimated how comfy yet chic this dress is. A simple braid, a flick of gel eye liner, and a hat, made this simple frock to instant chic for any occasion. Brunch? Check. Shopping? Check. Date night? Check check check!

Nothing but Nets

Graphic Tee | Taiwan night market booth
Army Green Sleeveless Trench | Thrifted
Nets Snapback | Gift
Black & White Pumps | Schutz (leopard version here)

Until summer comes back, I will reminisce with photos from last summer. Can ya blame me?

Sometimes I love NJ. Everyone's front yard is full of flowers and makes me feel like I'm driving through one big garden....Until I'm driving around because the lack of warmth outside prevents me from running around in my spring dresses. Then NJ becomes less magical and more gloomy.

If I worked in a more laidback environment, I think I would try to get away with this for casual Friday (don't worry, I have shorts on underneath, because I don't need to flash anyone!) I really can't wait to wear this out during the summer when it's warm again. This is a bit edgier than I'm used to, but I've always loved how some girls can pull this off so effortlessly. If I try, it takes longer than curling my hair, putting on makeup, finding a matching skirt top combo, and heels to match. I think it takes me a lot longer to feel comfortable and confident in this style. Am I pulling it off? Or do I look like an awkward turtle? 🐢

Monochrome Florals

Black Turtleneck | J. Crew
Wool Grey Cardigan | Banana Republic
Floral Silk Skirt | Thrifted
Silver Pumps | BCBG
Amor Needle Bag The Loeil

I like this photo, because it shows how cheesy I am.

Y'know how I said how excited I was over the sunshine? Well, winter must have heard me and feels neglected so now he's making a reappearance in my life. Luckily, before the weather turned, I got this spring outfit in! It was warm and I seriously forgot how much I loved spring. I have the sudden urge to visit every garden/park/flow festival possible these days.

This outfit is seriously a favorite for work. My neck is sensitive to the cold so the tissue thin turtleneck keeps me warm without overheating me. The cardigan makes my office feel less like winter, and the skirt is just extremely fun to twirl in.
