Seventies Flashback: Red Velvet

Blazer / Altuzurra for Target
Turtleneck / Asian boutique
Skirt / Club Monaco
(bought on sale for $25!)
Bag / Matt & Nat
Pumps / Schutz

With the 70s vibe walking down catwalks this past season, I knew I had to pair this bright red, big lapel, velvet blazer with the usual suspects, but in an updated look.

I paired it with the typical turtleneck and miniskirt of the 70s. I avoided big ribs in my turtlenecks for a more polished look. I avoided the typical miniskirt for this flouncy one from Club Monaco. It up'd the glam factor with its beautiful golden hue. (I still can't believe I snagged it for $25!) You can't see it, but the gold is spotted throughout with flecks of light blue. I decided to avoid the go-go boots, mostly because I do not own go-go boots. Potential investment for Halloween?

  6. I love this look. Both the velvet and the gold add a luxuriousness to this outfit. I remember seeing that skirt at Club Monaco and thinking I would wait for it to go on sale but I missed my window of opportunity. How did you snag it for $25?! ~Cynthia

    1. I really don't know how. I just lucked out with timing! It was really dead in the mall, and it had a 50% off the marked price and additional % on the sale items. Next time I see a sale like that, I'll message you haha
