    Y'know how I said how excited I was over the sunshine? Well, winter must have heard me and feels neglected so now he's making a reappearance in my life. Luckily, before the weather turned, I got this spring outfit in! It was warm and I seriously forgot how much I loved spring. I have the sudden urge to visit every garden/park/flow festival possible these days.

     This outfit is seriously a favorite for work. My neck is sensitive to the cold so the tissue thin turtleneck keeps me warm without overheating me. The cardigan makes my office feel less like winter, and the skirt is just extremely fun to twirl in.

     No big post today since I've been so busy.

     I just wanted to wear something more "work appropriate" without being boring. I like to throw stripes or polka dots in whenever I want a print that's not too loud. They're also super easy to pair with basics like a skirt (circle or pencil) and blazer.

    Anyway, I'm seriously enjoying the sun these days. So much so that I've already started planning vacations to far off places months in advance. The warm weather makes me think I can go anywhere! I'm already planning to go to the lavender fields in upstate NY for my birthday in June. Who knows what else. Do you guys have any ideas?? I'd love to hear what you guys have planned!

     I am nervous today. I have annual review at my day job. Here's a peek into my past six months: the director of my department left and I took on his job responsibilities; our company created a sales team to sell our parent company’s products globally with me as the only analyst; and in between, a bunch of corporate politics. It’s been exhaustive.

     International Women’s Day is today, and I think about how far women have come, but there's still a ways to go. I know I do good work. I do it timely and meticulously, even with the increased work load. Yet, it's not apparent to my male superiors, and I need to justify why I deserve a good review. When things like this come up, I always wonder, “would a male coworker have to defend himself?”

    My one reprieve is this blog. It's a little hideaway from stupid corporate politics, and I really can't wait to hear from you guys.

    Ok, so this is a bit different from my normal outfits. And I won't lie, it's not my most comfortable, but I promised more pant outfits so I will keep my word. I've always seen these type of outfits on Instagram, and they just ooze West Coast's chill yet cool vibes. I'm chill. I'm cool. I can do this!

     I didn't do it as well as I wanted. It's trial and error with fashion. You find things you super love and you find things that you can appreciate but are not your personal taste. This is one of the latter. I love the combo on others, but personally not a HUGE fan.

      The one thing you can be sure of though is this isn't the last you've seen of pants or this halter top! I'm going to keep trying until I find what works best for me.

      And seriously, I think that takeaway is better than any outfit photo I could possibly shoot :)

    So I ate way too well this weekend. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me posting photos of food everyday. We ordered a ridiculous amount of small plates Friday (24 plates to be exact). We looked like we hadn't eaten a meal in days!

     As snow began to fall yesterday, I spotted my new maroon dress from Chicwish out of the corner of my eye. It would be the perfect pop against the white fluffy snow.

      I froze my butt off, but this dress was everything I dreamed of! The big print, the deep wine red, the midi length, and the price point (currently $62, but Chicwish always has a code floating around the interwebs)!

      This dress has lining for the skirt, reducing static during the drier months. It's made of a great sturdy fabric. It doesn't have a lot of give, but the website lists the measurements of the dress which are pretty accurate. It was my first time purchasing from Chicwish, but I highly doubt it'll be my last with all their beautiful print dresses and midi skirts!

Valentine's Day Outfit: In the Red

    Ok, ok. I know last time we spoke, I said I was going to play tour guide with family and that was it. BUT Chris surprised me Vday dinner plans! Albeit, it's with his family, but it's still a nice gesture, and I don't mind spending time with his family :)

     I wanted a simple outfit (mostly because I am stain prone), and something that wouldn't leave me shivering if I got stuck under a vent so I took the most conventional piece, a little black dress or LBD and added a turtleneck under it.

      I contemplated this outfit for a week. It reminded me of a dickey for women. I couldn't decide so Chris told me to try on the outfit before deciding. I put it on, and to my surprise, I really liked it! (I see why Wolowitz wears a dickey now!)

Normally I don't write a lot, but while shooting this outfit, I realized something and wanted to share it with you.

I'm normally not comfortable with tight clothing. I'm extremely self-conscious about my little pudge, but for some reason, this outfit, dickey and all, made me feel pretty confident. It's not pants, but this outfit was a huge step for me regardless. Wow. Look at me; two barrier breaking posts back to back! A really awesome and happy pants outfit last week, now a super confident tight dress this week. I don't realize it, but I'm slowly getting more and more comfortable with my body. It's extremely empowering to not waste so much worrying about people seeing my pudge or judging me for not being thin enough. It's leading me to be more confident in work, and in myself. Little by little, this blog, my little diary, and you readers are encouraging me to be happier with what I see, inside and out.
