Pont Alexandre III Bridge | Mint Green Scalloped Skirt

I spent a lot of time and hair spray braiding my hair in the morning to look all pretty walking around Paris.
Paris had other plans for my hair aka the above photo.

I checked weather daily before leaving for Paris. Every webiste said it would be mid to high 70s, and I was so excited for spring flowers, flowy sundresses, and sleeveless tops. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to hibernate a little longer so I had to lug this Moncler jacket to Paris with me....but it didn't stop me from enjoying my dream spring vacation in Paris (aka bring short skirts and sleeveless tops anyway hahah)!!

This bridge is gorgeous. The details. The gold enamel. The panoramic scenic view. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. Y'know how you dream of something so much that you blow it out of proportion and when you finally see it, it doesn't wow you? Well, this was the exact opposite!

I think no matter how much I looked around or how long I stayed, my heart would skip a beat each time I found a beautiful street, ate a perfectly baked croissant, or admired a meticulously curated garden.

Also, I looked totally crazy in a sleeveless shirt and mini skirt, but who cares, right? I kept thinking "I'm in Paris, baby!!! Live it up or regret it later."

Vest + Stripes | Society Hotel

Grey Striped Button Down | Asos
Blue Vest | Urban Outfitters
Wool Skirt  | J. Crew, thrifted

If you haven't seen yet, I've been posting on Instagram from Portland, Oregon this past weekend. I had so much fun attending the manfriend's family wedding at the Sentinel.

We stayed an extra two days to try our hand at being hipsters (we were terrible, btw). BUT I loved the convenience of getting around Portland. We took the Trimet, the buses or walked around on foot.

I visited some famous places like Powell's City of Books (and bought two books!), Stumptown Coffee Roasters (twice), and Deschutes Brewery ($10 for a flight of 6 beers). Despite all the sightseeing, I dressed pretty comfortably throughout the weekend with outfits like this one (sans heels). We stayed at the Society Hotel which had a beautiful rooftop, which is where these photos were taken. It had beautiful views of Portland, especially magical at night.

Floral Skater Dress + White Blazer

Floral Skater Dress | Asos
White Blazer | H&M
Silver Pumps | BCBG
Watch | Roven Dino

The manfriend and I have been under the weather this weekend so I'm revisiting an old outfit I never posted, but is perfect for birthday celebrations (if I was well enough for them).

I love florals. But I'll admit when I have a problem...which I did. I had so many florals at one point that I didn't have any neutrals to match! Since that realization, I've been slowly compiling neutral basics. I thought I had all the basics I needed, until one day I saw a blogger pair a floral button down with a bright white blazer. It was the basic I never knew I needed or the hero we never knew we needed (in our closet).

Whenever I want a clean looking outfit with florals incorporated into it, I reach for this white blazer to keep the outfit simple and tailored looking! It's such an easy step upgrade for spring and summer from the basic black blazer.

70s Retro Denim Skirt Outfit

Lace Dress | Thrifted
Denim Skirt | Asos
Lucite Heels | L.A.M.B.
Cat Eye Sunglasses | Kate Spade

I love thrifted clothing, but I am really loving this retro 70s vibe that recently cropped up in the fashion world.

So I'm consciously pairing new items with thrifted items to create retro/vintage looks, and it's a bunch of fun. If you're just getting into thrifting, this is a great way to test the waters. Take an outfit you'd normally wear and replace one item with a thrifted item. It'll make thrifting fit into your wardrobe so much more easily!

This outfit is a great example. I wore a whole new outfit, but switched a new tank in for a thrifted dress worn as a top, and voila! Spring friendly outfit! It's completely modern with a retro (thrifted) twist.

This would have made the perfect debut album cover to my Indie career in the early 90s.
Just need to learn how to sing on pitch, play the guitar, write music, oh and go back in time 20 years.

Lemon Tank + Lace Skirt in the Garden

Lemon Tank | Asos
Cream Lace Skirt | Thrifted
Heeled Sandals | Caparros

Jersey is truly the Garden State with the all its little gardens hidden throughout the state, off busy highways or tucked away in downtown districts. This is the perfect season to visit New Jersey because the weather isn't too hot, and all the flowers are in bloom so if you ever need a tour guide, let me know!

I'm going back to my roots a bit with this beautiful thrifted skirt. It's so light and delicate that I was unable to capture all the intricate details. The only downside to thrifting is sometimes I find beautiful pieces that are just a bit too big for me, so I tend to rely on belts to remedy the situation.

This outfit was perfect for brunch in Montclair, NJ (a cute downtown you must check out if you ever visit NJ!). The tank top was perfect for the sunny afternoon, but the skirt gave me enough coverage for whenever I was under the shade. Remind me next time to bring a cardigan though. With the weather warming up, businesses have started to blast the AC, and then I'll be the fool with a cold in the middle of summer!

Stripes & Blazer Work Work Work

Cropped Blazer | Walter Baker
Striped Cropped Turtleneck | Asos
Jersey Circle Skirt | Asos
Black & White Pumps | Schutz (leopard version here)
Amor Needle Bag The Loeil
Cat Eye Sunglasses | Kate Spade

No big post today since I've been so busy.

I just wanted to wear something more "work appropriate" without being boring. I like to throw stripes or polka dots in whenever I want a print that's not too loud. They're also super easy to pair with basics like a skirt (circle or pencil) and blazer.

Anyway, I'm seriously enjoying the sun these days. So much so that I've already started planning vacations to far off places months in advance. The warm weather makes me think I can go anywhere! I'm already planning to go to the lavender fields in upstate NY for my birthday in June. Who knows what else. Do you guys have any ideas?? I'd love to hear what you guys have planned!
