     I am deciding right here, right now. Every time I visit LA, I will stop by LACMA. I always find something new that inspires me or captures my imagination. The best part? LA residents get free entry to LACMA while all visitors receive free entry into the museum the first Tuesday of every month.

      I decided an easy outfit was necessary for hours of walking. The dress's fit and flare cut made it easy to move around in. I loved the interchanging vine and rope details; it kept the dress from being boring without being overwhelming. It’s one of my most worn pieces from Boutique 1861, because its casual nature gives me so many chances to wear it!

     I still love my other pieces, but the houndstooth midi dress was formal for a day at the museum, while the mini shift was a bit restricting. This dress is right in the middle perfect. I would have even worn it this New Year’s if it hadn’t been freezing cold! Am I the only one missing 60 degree weather in December?!

     If you're still looking for the perfect dress for your holiday party or are into dresses that are a bit different from the crowd, then you should check out Boutique 1861. It's why I've bought more than I care to admit from them! Eek! :X

     Like this dress is sheer perfection. It's beautifully tailored, great hounds tooth print, and made with quality materials. I mean, hounds tooth is awesome. Why can't I ever find more of it in stores?? No, seriously, why??? It's black and white, but patterned so it's not boring. How do you not love it? 

     I digress... This dress gives me so much room to eat, drink, and breathe, which are essential to surviving the holiday season! :P  Plus, when I slipped it on, I just felt amazing despite the weight gain from this holiday season. (Don't get me started. I had my physical today, and the scale was scarier than the multiple needles poking into me).

     I really can't stop gushing over this dress though. It is one of my favorites right now. It is simple but never boring. Classic but not outdated. It is perfection known as Boutique 1861.

     Cold weather is seriously the best. I get to wear comfy, fluffy sweaters and repurpose dresses! I've been throwing cardigans, crop tops, and long sleeves on my dresses to extend their "shelf life" so to speak :)

     This dress was an instant hit amongst my friends. It's got a fun pattern that's not too loud, a flattering cut (which you'll see when it's warmer!), and from one of my favorite boutiques (Boutique 1861)! 

     Since it's colder, I threw on a fuzzy cardigan with pockets (also from Boutique 1861 haha) and stepped out booties. It was the perfect outfit for the colder weather without looking too bulky. Plus I'm trying to do more pattern play so this striped top was a perfect combo for the dress!

Boutique Houndstooth from 1861

     I love my online shopping haunts, but after awhile, nothing seems fresh. Since I'm always looking for new brands and stores (literally, I google "best shops online"), I stumbled upon a BuzzFeed article. It named a few brands I already knew (hi Eshakti!), but one of them peaked my interest. It featured vintage inspired clothing, with modern details.

     The brand? Boutique 1861! I have one major deal breaker: quality. So when I got my package, I held my breath. I hoped the clothing would live up to my standards. Not only did the clothing surpass my expectations, the team at Boutique 1861 really know how to value a customer. My clothing came in beautiful tissue paper of Victorian drawings, wrapped in a ribbon,with a personalized card on top. A girl feels real special shopping with Boutique 1861!

     The first dress (of a few. I couldn't help myself!) is this beautiful wool houndstooth shift. It's made of weighty fabric and has beautiful gold zippers down the sides. A welcome surprise was the knotted collar on the dress. I seriously love this dress and plan to wear it once a week, weather permitting!
